The Secret Life of Bees [Movie]
Lily Owens accidently killed her mother when she was 4 years old. Now she’s 14 years old and living with her father and is haunted by the memory of killing her mother. She always wants to know a thing or two about her mother but her father only tells her all the bad things her mother did. Of course Lily doesn’t believe what her father tells her.
Living a lonely life and haunted by the memory of killing her mother, Lily flees with Rosaleen, her colored caregiver. One day, as Lily and Rosaleen are on their way to the town for registering Rosaleen as a voter (the movie sets in 1964 and back then, blacks couldn’t vote), three white men stop them. One thing leads to another, the three white men attack Rosaleen. She’s hospitalized and
Lily comes to rescue her. The two of them storm out of the town and head to a place where Lily’s mother used to live. They two are taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters, who apparently have a business of beekeeping. They produce honey. Living with them Lily finally gets to experience of having a real family. She also learns so much about life.
Beside its great and famous stars starring this movie, this one is really a must see movie (if you really like drama, of course). It’s very touching, sad, and well played
P.s. Tes tes… Postingan kali ini ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris (bahasa yang sangat dimusuhi oleh segelintir orang Indonesia hehehehehe
) Buat latihan aja, nih

I read the book. Haven’t seen the movie yet, but I think I’ll see it, even though the book may be more interesting.
Greeting from England
Emma.
